A School Street is a road outside a school where vehicle access is restricted during drop-off and pick-up times. The aim is to improve road safety, reduce traffic and create a healthier environment for children.
How does School Street enforcement work?
VidAlert uses AI-powered ANPR cameras to identify vehicles entering restricted areas during operating hours. It automatically recognises exempt vehicles using a continuously updated data list, while unauthorised vehicles can be processed for enforcement through either a written warning or a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
